[2] Shampooed with Silk Dreams Go Moist Shampoo.
[3] Tea rinsed using green tea and peppermint tea mix.
[5] Deep conditioned with my steamer using Silk Dreams’ Vanilla Silk Cream Moisture Dream (you can check out my review here).
[6] Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for about 30 minutes. Then I tied my edges down with my scarf and let my hair dry a bit more. When my hair was about 70% dry, I applied my leave ins, spraying my hair with CHI Keratin Mist and then applying a little bit of Darcy’s Botanicals Daily Leave-In Conditioner (review here) over it.
[7] Then I detangled my hair, and blow dried my roots on cool using the tension method. Once my hair was dry, I applied a little Redken Heat Glide and flat ironed my hair. For a visual of how I blow dried and flat ironed my hair, you can check out this video here.
My hair felt so, so soft when I took down the towel to apply my leave-ins. A happy dance may have happened while touching my hair… don’t judge me lol.
My regimen is very moisture-focused and by starting my mid-week deep conditioning session, I’ve only upped the moisture. I do strand tests every wash to wet-assess my protein/moisture balance so I’ve been keeping a lookout for moisture overload. I’m still in the clear but chose to use CHI Keratin Mist as a leave-in to add a little protein in the mix.
Once my hair was done, I dusted my ends and because I couldn’t resist I took an inch off the hair that frames my face. Both my new growth and texlaxed hair shrink when I air dry so it was nice seeing my full length after flat ironing. It renewed my pursuit of hip length hair by the end of the year… fingers crossed!
