Rosemary and chamomile tea both have great hair benefits, and you can make your hair growth treatment with some dry rosemary leaves, chamomile tea bags, and some water.

Of course, before you make this leave-in treatment, it’s a good idea to take a closer look at the benefits the ingredients have to offer.

The Benefits of Rosemary for Hair

Rosemary was used in herbal medicine to treat a variety of health problems. Rosemary works as an antimicrobial and an antioxidant.

Studies show that rosemary helps stimulate the hair follicles, which helps hair to grow stronger and longer. It also contributes to reducing hair loss and may even be an effective treatment for women dealing with hormonal hair loss.

Rosemary also helps to treat a flaky, dry scalp by disinfecting, detoxifying and invigorating the scalp. This herb also helps to improve circulation to the scalp, ensuring that vital nutrients delivered to the scalp. Rosemary may even help prevent or reverse gray hair when being regularly used.

The Benefits of Chamomile Tea for Hair

Not only does the rosemary offer some great benefits for your hair, but chamomile also provides some excellent benefits.

Chamomile primary works by calming and soothing. The chamomile tea will help to calm and soothe your scalp, which may result in reducing problems with hair loss.

The beautiful yellow color that comes with a chamomile tea also offers the benefit of brightening hair, which may minimally lighten your hair color. It also adds shine to your hair, leaving hair looking shiny, bright and healthy.

You Will Need

  • 2 bags – Chamomile tea (make sure it’s 100% chamomile) or Peppermint tea
  • 1/2 or 1 tbsp – Dry Rosemary leaves (found at your grocer’s spices aisle)
  • 1 cup – water

{Just a side note, chamomile will subtly lighten hair – especially if exposed to heat or the sun (just skip this ingredient if you prefer your natural hair color)}

① Heat up your water and put in into a cup or jar to steep with the two chamomile tea bags. Leave it be for now.

② Take the Rosemary leaves and grind them as fine as possible. Of course, a mortar and pestle are so helpful with this step, but getting the leaves super fine isn’t truly necessary. Let’s go back to our steeped tea.

③ Now stir in the Rosemary leaves. I put this in a jar that I could shake, but I don’t think that’s entirely necessary.

Now I let this mixture sit for an entire day because I wanted the rosemary to be steep as much as possible (you don’t need to follow this step).

To get this to spray, I had to strain the rosemary from it before I placed it in its final bottle.

④ Once you are ready to use, just spritz it to your damp hair and massage the mixture into your hair, starting at the ends and working your way up to the scalp.

It’s very light and not at all greasy, so you don’t have to rinse it out and can use it on clean hair.

Tip: If you really suffer from major hair loss, drink 2 cups of this boiled rosemary leaf tea a day, and you’ll notice your circulation improve and your hair growing much faster.

I also recommend taking Biotin. It strengthens hair and nails, and I think that’s helped with my growth as well.

Please be advised to stay away from rosemary if you are pregnant or have high blood pressure.
